Oracle bone script was China's first fully developed Chinese character system. In November 2017, the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization selected the Oracle bone script to enter the Memory of the World Programme.

Examples of oracle bone scripts are scarce in the contemporary art world. This book showcases never-before-seen oracle bone inscriptions by the famous Chinese artist and calligrapher Qin Shiwei.

We hope to preserve Chinese culture and promote cultural exchange between the East and the West by publishing these works. The engravings and paintings found in this book represent a wealth of new material for scholars and research institutions.

Modern Chinese writing can map its history directly back to oracle bone inscriptions. Mr. Qin's outstanding artistic achievements will undoubtedly preserve the legacy of oracle bones for the next generation.

本书选择了先生生前的部分工作和创作照片。编印作品内容共三部分：其一是甲骨文篆刻作品，其朱文、白文、跋中，只要出现甲骨文字入印即归类第一部分；其二是甲骨文书法作品，要求一律为甲骨文字；其三是非甲骨文字的篆刻和书法代表性作品。以飨读者。

序言 -

2017年11月，中国最早的成熟汉字——甲骨文，成功入选《世界记忆名录》。在现当代艺坛上，毕生以甲骨文入书入印者寥若晨星，秦士蔚先生就是其中的一代大家。

我与秦士蔚先生相识于1981年，相邻而居18年。先生在简陋的十平方米坯子房里研究甲骨文、篆刻和书法，环境艰苦，但他始终不懈努力。

当时我对先生的甲骨文艺术非常感兴趣，但因生活拮据，不敢奢望能与此艺术产生联系。先生的毅力和精神吸引了我，我从好奇到成为他的助手，并逐渐成为忘年交和知己。

先生让我感动的事很多，他一生从未卖过一幅字，没有售过一枚章，却花两年工资购回《甲骨文全集》，足见他对艺术的钟爱。

先生是良师益友，潜移默化地传授艺德，影响了我的一生。这本书的出版，既是自我学习的总结，也是对秦士蔚先生的感恩，并为弘扬中华文化、促进东西方文化交流提供一个窗口，同时为专家学者提供甲骨文研究的素材。
